Top 10 Places To Eat Lunch In Cumbria

Lunch at the Millyard in Morland
I may be biased here but Cumbria has some of the best independent restaurants and cafes, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat lunch. With locally sourced products and beautiful settings, there's so much choice of where to eat in the county but I've whittled mine down into my favourite lunch spots, because lunching out has to be one of my favourite things to do!

My Go To Student Website

If you're in your first year of uni or your last, heck even if you're just thinking about going to university, Student Hut is the place to go. I've been a fan of Student Hut for quite a long time (I'm pretty sure I've been getting their newsletters since I started) so when they asked me to collaborate with them, I jumped at the chance because there are so many great features which I use on a regular basis. There's something on the website for everyone, including if you're just looking at where you might want to go and what you might want to study, so I thought I'd take you on a little tour of the website and all the features it has.

Hello lovelies! I've finished my exams! If you read my Hello Summer post you would already know this but I finished on Tuesday and it feels so surreal to not have to do any work. Yeah, I'm not used to that. I used the end of exams to go on a bit of a spending splurge because, you know, spend your stress away! Also, where has the sun gone? Typical that as soon as my exams are done it turns into one big black cloud! Anyways, on with my current favourites!

Hello Summer

Second Year is officially done guys. How am I now a two thirds of the way through my degree??? It's absolutely crazy and it feels like yesterday since I was sitting my GCSE's. Now that all the exams are out of the way (AKA the week of hell!) I can finally focus on summer which is going to include a lot of blogging and a lot of fun hopefully!

One of my aims for the summer is to start a YouTube channel and I am determined to start it this time because I love editing videos and I think it will be really interesting to try a different platform and create different types of content for you guys. There's lots of other exciting things in the pipe work regarding blogging, including the Bloggers Ball in June which I cannot wait for because I'm finally going to get to meet a lot of my blogging friends!

I'm hoping this summer is going to be filled with travel; I already have one holiday booked with my family but I know that me and my friends will be going on road trips and I can't wait to explore new places around where we live and in the UK with my best friends!

So, hello summer! It's great to see you and finally be able to enjoy you!

MAY : Ostomy Outfit of the Month

How is May nearly over? This month has gone so fast; I can't believe that I only have 1 exam left! Because I've been revising for exams all month, this months outfit is another one from my holiday but it's one more geared towards an evening look rather than a day time.

I surprised myself when I picked up this skirt because it's definitely not my normal style but I loved the pattern and the dipped hem and it just screamed holiday to me. I'm so glad I picked it up because it felt so good on; I loved the way it felt and it just gave me more confidence when I put it on. This particular one is from Primark and I think it was about £8.00. The good thing about this skirt is that it's got an elasticated waist so you can place it easily above your stoma so you have nothing digging in or sitting on your stoma which I always find uncomfortable. Plus, if your bag blows up, no one will be able to tell! It's very lightweight and it fits so easily in your case and doesn't crease which is always a bonus.

I teamed it with a matching navy blue tank top, again from Primark and I think these are so versatile and comfy and go with everything. I was worried that the blues wouldn't match but luckily they did. I think this would look good with a white crop top too, but I've never really been a crop top person but who knows, maybe I'll try!

The shoes are from last years Sainsbury's collection of sandals and to be honest, they are falling apart a bit but I've seen a lot of really nice pairs this year (and even nabbed a pair already which I love!). I've noticed this year they've got a lot more pairs of real leather ones for a decent price too!

I juts want to finish my mentioning my neckless because I absolutely love it! I got it from the Vineyard we went to in the volcano national park in Lanzarote and it's a piece of lava and then it has a peridot, which is my birth stone. I just think it's so beautiful!

I hope you liked this months outfit. Let me know what you think in the comments below and leave your ostomy outfit tips.

What's In My Make Up Bag | Holiday Edition

I don't know about you but when I go on holiday, I don't like wearing too much, especially if it's hot! I just don't like anything too heavy on my face, even on a night, but I do like to have SPF on. I completely changed up my make up routine whilst I was in Lanzarote and used some new products as well as some old favourites and I was really happy with the look I got. Since it's been warm in the UK since I got back (which I have been loving!) I've kept using this look; I've focused on the highlight and natural tan look and it's very minimal; definitely a barely their look.

World IBD Day 2016

World IBD Day has come around again and I thought I'd celebrate this year by taking you along on the Crohn's and Colitis Walk It event I took part in last weekend. This was my first ever time taking part in an event for Crohn's and Colitis and it was such a great day and I felt so proud flying the flag for the charity and raising awareness of the disease; I can't count the times me and mum got asked about our t-shirts and what we'd been doing when we went shopping in town afterwards. It was also so great to see so many other people proudly wearing their t-shirts afterwards too!

Don't forget to donate to the charity via my just giving page!

SecuriCare Travel Bag Review

If you read my flying with an ostomy post you'll have seen that I mentioned the SecuriCare travel bag which I took on holiday with me. It's a nifty little bag which is perfect for carrying all your stoma stuff when you're travelling. Unlike the normal carry bags you get from SecuriCare, this one is more slimline, easier to carry and you can even fit it quite easily in your backpack if you don't want to carry it. I thought I'd do a little in depth review of the bag because I found it so handy when I went on holiday the other week.

Walk It For Crohn's and Colitis

This Saturday I'm taking part in the Walk It: Manchester event for Crohn's and Colitis UK. The walk in question is a 5K walk around Manchester in the aim of raising awareness and money for the charity.

I've talked quite a bit about the charity before, because they do such great work. If you don't know who Crohn's and Colitis are, they're a charity who's aim is to  work with all those affected by these conditions to achieve a better quality of life, improve services, and ultimately find a cure. They're a fantastic charity who have offered me a lot of support since I got diagnosed with the disease. You can read my full story here.

There'll be a post next week all about the walk but in the mean time if you'd like to sponsor me, you can do at my JustGiving page.

Camel Rides, Volcano Trips & Wine Tasting

Whilst in Lanzarote, I got to go on a trip to Timanfaya National Park at the south of the island which features a lot of Volcanos. I am absolutely fascinated by volcanos and love learning about them; the excitement levels on the days leading up to the trip (and the whole holiday) were high! On the trip, we got to ride camels in the volcanic landscape, get to see some volcanic experiments and went to a winery for a little wine tasting. I had the absolute best time and thought I'd bring you along with me!

Tips and Tricks for Flying With An Ostomy

If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (follow me "KTMYblog") you'll have seen that I was in Lanzarote last week and I had the most amazing time! This was my first time flying since getting my ileostomy and it's fair to say I was pretty nervous about it; I'm a nervous flyer at the best of times so add in a stoma which I have no clue how will react, it's safe to say that my anxiety levels were at an all time high! Thank god for the emergency anxiety meditation on my calm app! Anyways, flying with an ostomy was no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be so I thought I would share with you my tips and tricks!
