Last night I had a lil movie night with one of my friends, watching Dark Shadows (perfect to get in the Halloween spirit!) and it was so much fun! With the early nights drawing in, it's the perfect excuse to have cosy movie nights with friends and family. In fact, it's number 5 on my 10 things about Autumn post. What's better than grabbing some snacks, popping on a film and drinking your weight in hot chocolate? From choosing a dream TV (a girl can dream right) to the best films and my hot chocolate choices, here's my list of movie night essentials!
1. Okay, so lets start with the TV choice. Panasonic have got these new 4K TV's called the Panasonic Viera and I'm not going to lie they do look pretty amazing. If you're looking for ultra crisp screens, these look to be the tv to choose. Plus, they connect to your Netflix account (more on netflix picks in a few) so what more could you want! However, if like me you're a poor student and cannot afford this, then you cannot beat the old laptop!
2. Pick the film. A while ago I shared with you my 10 must see films and I still stand by all of these. A lot of them (Love Rosie, Starter for 10, The Oranges) are on Netflix however over the summer I won a competition where I won an Amazon Fire Stick and I love how much selection you've got on there. I have Amazon Prime, so there's a good selection of free films to watch but you can also buy a lot to stream so there are so many films at your finger tips! My all time favourite movie night film has to be Harry Potter though...you cannot beat it!
3. The PJ's. An important element of any movie night is defiantly your choice in pyjamas. Personally, I am a huge fan of Primark pjs as they're so comfy (and cheap!) however I got a pair from Asda the other week and they were really good too. Here's a few which are on my want list right now;
4. Hot Chocolate & Snacks. A movie night would not be complete without hot chocolate and snacks. My go to hot chocolate (and has been for years) is the classic, Cadbury's. I prefer the milk version rather than the hot water (even though I end up going through my milk way too quickly!) because it tastes more hot chocolaty. As for snacks, I can't have popcorn because of my ileostomy (plus I don't really like it) so I always opt for things like minstrels, smarties and jelly babies.
Cookies were our snack of choice last night! |
